Featured background for JMJ Personnel

William G. Savage is a Principal at JMJ Associates with more than 20 years of experience helping leaders in high-risk, asset-intensive industries strengthen performance where it matters most—at the intersection of human behavior, operational complexity, and high-consequence risk.

He partners with executive and frontline leaders to move beyond traditional safety approaches that focus on injury rates, and instead build the conditions required to prevent serious injuries and fatalities (SIF), improve decision-making under pressure, and increase system reliability.

William’s work is grounded in a practical understanding of how work actually gets done in complex environments. He is known for helping teams:

  • Surface and address latent organizational risk into daily reality
  • Strengthen leadership capability in high-stakes conditions
  • Shift from compliance-driven models to ownership and accountability cultures

His clients include global leaders such as Chevron, Jacobs, NASA, Gilbane, Skanska, and Mosaic, where he has supported large-scale capital projects, construction programs, and operational transformations.

In addition to his client work, William facilitates JMJ’s CEO and HSE forums, convening senior leaders across the construction sector to advance industry thinking on safety, leadership, and performance.

William holds a Master’s degree in Human Services from St. Edward’s University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. His early career included work in forensic psychiatry and behavioral health, shaping his ability to navigate the human factors that influence performance in high-risk environments.
