Construction Safety Week 2026: All In Together on Recognize, Respond, Respect
An industry‑led initiative focused on shifting how safety is owned and led, bringing companies together to recognize risk, respond with intent, and respect every role in keeping people safe.
Construction Safety Week returns May 4-8, 2026, uniting construction companies across the industry around a shared goal: preventing serious injuries and fatalities.
This year’s theme, All In Together, centers around three simple but critical actions: Recognise, Respond and Respect. The focus is on identifying risks early, taking action when something isn’t right and treating people with care and respect on site.
A collective effort
Construction Safety Week began in 2014 as a joint effort between a small group of contractors. Since then, it has grown into a global, industry-led initiative, with organizations of all sizes taking part.
What sets Construction Safety Week apart is the focus on working together to drive industry-wide change. By sharing ideas, raising standards and supporting one another, companies contribute to a fundamental shift in how safety is owned and led across the industry.
Practical tools that support real work
One of the strengths of Construction Safety Week is its focus on action. Each day is supported by practical resources designed for use in real working environments, including:
Daily topics and discussion guides
Toolbox talks and site materials
Videos and leadership messaging
Activities that encourage reflection and conversation
These tools help turn awareness into action, giving teams a chance to pause, talk openly, and reflect on how everyday choices and behaviors contribute to safer outcomes.
More than just a week
While Construction Safety Week provides a valuable focal point, its impact extends well beyond a single week. The themes of Recognize, Respond and Respect reflect behaviors that need to be present every day, across every role, not just something that’s revisited once a year.
