The presentation, ‘Safety organization: Lessons from benchmarking staff levels,’ asked, ‘What is the right level of EHS staffing for chemical manufacturers?’ To answer this question, the panel referenced the results of a study conducted with a global chemical manufacturer. They shared lessons learned in benchmarking HSE capacity, capability and competence, detailed an EHS development pathway, and shared JMJ’s integral model for transforming safety culture. Both the approach, and lessons learned can be applied to other manufacturing organizations that want to assess their EHS capabilities and capacity.
